theres wormy thing about 1.5 inches long, one hlf is black nd the other red. what is it, i it hrmfull?

By the sounds of what you have described, they are just bristle worms. They are harmless and are a valuable addition to your systems clean up crew.

There is a different version of the bristle worm which is all red/orange. These are Fireworms. They like to feed on coral polyps and so should be removed from the tank. However, do NOT touch a fireworm as they are stingers, and believe me, they pack a very potent punch to us fishy keepings. Remove them with tongues or tweezers..

To be sure of the ID, do a google image search on " bristle worm " and ensure that they are the same...

thanks man, i have also have tehse lil' white tehings on my tanks sides i had a simlier prob in one of my fresh tank, they were eaten by snails, will that happen in my tank, i have 8 turbo snails.
