Perhaps you could start a new thread, then Axle can be the star of his own thread!

:D I love em to bits!
Yes - I did spend more time caring for him than anything else!

I wouldn't reccommend any other fish than a Hillstream loach - as most fish will either get eaten - or find his fluffy wiggly gills irresistable and eat HIM!

However - if you want something interesting and safe to look at and for him to play with - get a couple of Ghost Shrimp.
They'll clean the floor, and he can chase them around - but he'll never catch them!

Before you do that though - what size tank is he in?

(I'll list some more Axie toys later)

Lol - ok, The best Axie toys are obviously Ghost Shrimps.
A single Axie is reccommended to have at LEAST a 14G tank - if it's in anything smaller, it needs upgrading before he gets too big. (The can reach 30cm long)

In a 14G you'll easily be able to keep a small gang of shrimp too.

Another good Axie toy is the classic Moss Ball - a type of aquatic plant that grows - well in a ball. You can get them from eBay for a quid or so.
Axies LOVE to shove them round, and roll them about. Teaches foraging.

Another is the ping-pong ball.
Put a pinkprick in it, and half fill with water so it sinks but still rolls along well.
Again, foraging is encouraged!

A small pile of tumbled quartz stones (smooth). He can dig around in those - but make sure it is quartz or obsidian. If you want other Axolotl safe gems - mssg me and I'll list them.

Also, a bit of bogwood is endless fun - shove the nose under, run round it - shove the nose under again - you get the idea!

Ziggy has his own personal house too - A Y joint from a drainpipe (brand new)
If you go towards the start of this topic, you'll be able to see Zigs.

Also, how are you feeding him? If he's having problems with mouthfuls of gravel, try putting a small bowl in for him. Food stays in bowl or mouth - gravel stays out of both. (Easier to clean too)
A well washed coffee lid is reccommended.

Oh they are great fun and SO rewarding!
I reccommend the setup I used (if you read through the posts) - as it seems the best one for them - and the best filter by far!
(I use interpet Powerfilters all over)

You can pick them up from about ?12.
Of course, you will need to silent cycle the tank 1st - but it's worth it.

Oh cool! Sounds like Ziggy's tank.
Put some Java Moss on it - nice and soft and springy then.
As long as he has somewhere to hide and plenty of room - what size did you say his tank was?

And lol - yes - me!

Had a stroke of luck finally - a nice eBayer has told me she will do me some fine black gravel at cost price for me!
How good is that!
(Because I am very poor! )
Thankyou nice eBayer!

I went into Sixhills today - Gary says he'll give me a discount if I want to buy a colony of Glass shrimp - and he's reserved the last baby Axie for me!
He's feeding him bloodworm because he's so tiny - you can see his dinner in his belly!
Awww Spyyk's so cute!
C'mon and bring me my tank - I nearly have everything ready! *augh*

I have the special substrate on the way (black 1-4mm) and I have a nice Marimo ball for him...

I can feel your anticipation clear over here. Has your package got there yet? Should be today or tomorrow, unless customs saw and ate the treat the girls put in the box for you. :lol2:
