Black smooth gravel

Need something? Have extra?

Sorry - yes me again.
Looking for some nice black/dark coloured smooth gravel (med-large plz) - anyone have any in their local stores?
(It's for the albino axolotl tank - it'll be comforting and dark for him, and we'll be able to see him easier.)

Don't they eat gravel if it's not big enough?

try your local glass making factory: ask for tumbled black or green glass ;)
otherwise try marbles as well, but will tave a look at the LFS on sat... plz give us an estimate on how much is the max you want it to be...

Not really fussy about price (it isn't my bill...hehehe.) She'll want the best for her pet. Needs to be enough to coat a two foot by one foot tank, about 2 inches deep.
We don't really have a glass factory near us - but I shall see if there is a glassworks - it's a good idea. I have a yellow pages instore - will enquire tomorrow.

And yes - the way Axolotls eat they snap their mouths open, and use the suction from this action to suck the food in - and any gravel nearby...
(But you can train them to hand feed - which means food won't be on floor and they have to look up for it!) :D

I think your from the U.S so it would probably be super expensive shipping here from Canada. I'm buying some for myself tommorow though lol..

Your lucky you can find axolotl's, I wish I could!
