you use a (clean) paint brush to get the worms out. full instructions on the first page of this thread.

what is a microworm? them things are gross man. They arent going to cause any damage to us are they, like the toxoplasmosis worm or have some horrible bacteria that can transfer to humans. Them things remind me of tiny invisible maggots, all squirmy and gross. bleurgh

magots are worse. as far as i know, microworms are completely harmless & the fish love them... but that doesn't mean you can go and eat them yourself :P

Kitty, I've followed all the instructions, oats/yeast/moisture etc but not a lot seems to be happening except "blob" of worms I got are starting to go a reddish colur around the edges, is this good or bad? Can't see any worms though!

add more water and place it somewhere dark and warm (not hot) if you look at the cultur in good light at an angle, you should see some of them wrigling around.

what shade of red?

oats were from health food shop, don't know the make
yeast was Allinsons yeast what I use in my bread maker

... next time use warm so that the yeast can start working... it's ok to add cold afterwards, just need it warm to start off with. :P

:o i thought about buying some of this of aquaauction but i wasnt excately sure how to use it (well, not use it but you know what i mean.)

have you still got a few left? should i start posting like mad ;)

how big do microworms grow to before they get fed to the fishes?
