Stunning pictures, some really nice fish there...what is the marine goby type fish in there? Don't know nuffin about marines, but lots of them are pretty fish, that one is amazing looking. I voted for it just because it looked so weird and I haven't seen one before, but could just as easily have voted for any of the rest, going to be a close one this time I think?

A.agassizii would be another good option for your softwater breeding project Sharkdude... ideally you'd want a trio (one male two females) in a 24" (13 gallon), or bigger, tank with lots of bogwood.

Male A.cacatuoides aka Cockatoo cichlids, have got spiky fins, a huge blue mouth and an attitude to go with it! Quite, quite different to the sleek, mild mannered male A.agassizii in every way, although the females of the two species look similar as most female Apistos do unfortunately...

That would be a Batfish, they are extremely ugly in person but none the less they are fascinating creatures... they don't move much though :lol2:

Sorry for the late reply Shark been away to scotland. :)

I treat mine just as I would my kribensis. Soft silightly acidic water and enough caves and rocks to breed on /in. :)

Batfish huh? Hmm, well I think it's kind of cute and bizzarre.

Agree with Fish Shed on keeping most Apistos really, it is as simple as that.
