Hi,

I'm looking for some advice please, can I keep common goldfish, yellow goldfish and shubunkins in a tank together?
Also can I keep red oranda, red and white oranda, red cap oranda, black moor and blue orandas in a tank together?

Thanks, new to fish keeping.

Hi and welcome :)

Yes to both your questions: problems mainly arise when the "fancy" bodied ones are placed with the "common" bodies fish because the natural bodied fish are better swimmers.

I would also like to point out that goldfish naturally live for a very long time and grow large, so you should try to provide them with a large tank/pond as a permanent home.

All the best :)

You can keep common goldfish, yellow goldfish and shubunkins together in a LARGE tank. Remember that common goldfish, when kept in best conditions, can grow up to 20-25 inches long.

You can also keep fancy goldfish together in a tank. However, you can put common goldfish with the fancy ones. Common goldfish swim faster so it will be hard for the fancy fish to compete for food.

Moreover, remember not to overstock your tank.

Goldfish is very messy as we all know it. But if you want to put many together then you can. I am not finding in any problem in that. But they are eating like a hell so there must be fight about food so have some nice plants which can grow fast.
