starting again :)

New to freshwater? This is the place to post!

starting again :)

Well after a good few years away, i have decided to go and buy a new tank and set it up in the dining room.

Starting modestly, (cars in the garage) :) so just the 1 36x15x12 tank. going to use sand this time (just read Kats "tesco" tip) so i'll be looking there. still got all my old filters etc, but decided to buy a new one, went for a standard Hydor Crystal Duo Ro511 which will handle the 33 g or so i reckon the tank will be (up to 50g on the box) just need to source some live plants to get started ( about 2 weeks to finish cycling)

However

In the past i had many fish that were suitable for community tanks etc, but this time i will start with just my favourite ones, ENDLERS. But how hard is it to find endlers for sale,,, lol,, plenty of guppies etc and folk that think they are the same, but i would reall like some N Endlers, nice pure ones, peacocks, yellow top swords etc, but it's easier finding a needle ina haystack.

All the old contacts i have now seem to have "gone"

Can anyone point me in the right direction please.

many thanks, and it's great to be back :)

Hey Ray, good to see you about again! I hope you aren't planning on abandoning us again! :P

My calculations bring it to 22 imperial gal, better check that! I can get hold of quite a lot of plants and have them posted directly to you, so feel free to drop me a PM for a price estimate :) and try getting hold of sharkdude (Sam) as he was (last I heard!) overrun with my left over N class stock and no one to take it off him!

And yeah, sand is great, although I am cheating and using black gravel now... oops!

Hi Kat, thanks for the reply, just got it,, i think my auto-notify isnt working :)

Just my luck, just came back from LFS with some plants, a few vallis and swords just to get the tank cycling properly. However, i will be looking for more when it gets up and running properly si i'll drop you a pm if you dont mind.

Will pm Sam later tonight and see if he can help. Seems there is a bit of a shortage on good quality fish,, glad there is a good forum to balance it :woot:

cheers
